Hello there and welcome to my site! I am Nia Chantal Ballard, but we can just keep it simple, and you can call me Nia! I’m just a southern belle with Blair Waldorf dreams, a Beyonce attitude and work ethic, and an Oprah Winfrey heart. I was born in Atlanta, Ga but grew up in Decatur (where it’s greater, duh!). Though my agenda is frequently full, in my spare time I’m usually going on new adventures, meeting new people, going to concerts, singing Bey Karaoke, eating frozen yogurt, speaking Spanish, watching history documentaries, or binge-watching Gossip Girl.
In high school, in the humble halls of SWD, I realized I was addicted to constantly being busy. Fast forward to college, I found myself overloaded with school work, two jobs, and positions in various organizations. Before I knew it, I was being pinned as a member of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and crowned as the 2016-2017 Ms. Georgia State University. In what seemed like a blink of an eye, I was officially a Spring 2017 alumna of Georgia State University with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a concentration in Public Relations, with a minor in Theatre. Life hits you fast.
Now, I am a published writer for one of the largest black owned media outlets, red carpet correspondent, and publicist. I’ve been immensely blessed to chop it up with the likes of Rev. Run, Jessica Williams, Marlon Wayans, Dascha Polanco, Logan Browning, Loretta Devine, and more. Sounds glamorous, right? Well, let me not forget to mention I also have a 9-5, in a field that has nothing to do with media. Hey, glamour doesn’t pay the bills – yet. Though I love media and PR, acting fuels my soul. My ultimate goal is to be a successful actress and philanthropist who owns a thriving media outlet and PR firm. Sounds impossible? I know, but I love a challenge.
I live by the quote, “Aspire to Inspire.” Over the years, I’ve wondered how God would lead my path so I could do just that. I always knew I was destined for something great, but just never knew what. I’ve had my eyes, ears, and heart open to God’s voice and I think it’s starting to become clear to me. During my time on this earth, I’ve experienced so much, the good, bad, and ugly, but I’ve also came out on top, conquering my challenges, and achieving goal after goal. I’ve always been asked ‘How do you do it?’ and this site is the answer. Through this platform, I hope to be completely transparent and show that if you put in the work and trust God’s plan for you, anything is possible.
